The Story Machine, a novel planner for writers

The Story Machine has been successful beyond my expectations. I still remember that autumn day when I sat on the edge of the porch, awaiting the FedEx truck to drop off the prototype of my novel planner for writers that my manufacturer had overnighted me. I was so excited but so nervous that something would not be up to standards, or that I'd find a mistake in it.

But it was perfect...for what it was at the time. I launched it, and sales started to come in almost immediately. Two years later, it's still going strong, but I won't just sit back. I want to not only stay ahead of the curve with the uniqueness of my product that just didn't exist before (multiple, similar writing planners are now beginning to appear on the market, as can be expected :) but to continue creating the absolute best experience for writers.

I want to feel the same excitement looking at my product as that autumn day when I first unwrapped it, and looking at this photo of it above, I do. I want all of you writers to see it on your desk or in your duffel bag and feel a wave of excitement to make serious progress in your novel.

I want it to call you back day after day until you realize you've made writing an unavoidable ritual in your life.

Until you realize that you just don't write stuff anymore...you're a writer.

That the book you've been working on for years isn't going to stay an unrealized dream, but transform into a palpable, managable, and FINISHED project.

I made a couple changes this time around. I received lots of compliments on the design & feel of the hardcover 1st edition, but also comments like "it's so pretty I don't want to mess it up" and "I've been writing all my answers & notes on separate pieces of paper."

While that’s a nice sentiment, here's the thing...I WANT you to mess it up. I want you to dive in and use all the formulas to the fullest. I want it to be crammed full of your ideas and all the messiness of an evolving creative project, with twists, turns, adding, and erasing. I want the cover to be half hanging off by the time you write your first draft and realized you’ve proven to yourself that you can be a novelist   

So I’ve made this edition more…”workbooky”. It’s bigger (240+ pages this time) and more flexible with a durable laminate soft cover. It can be stuffed in a bag or backpack and still lies nice and flat for both left-handers and right-handers to use with ease. So get in there and tear it up.

It has 6 all-new sections, for a total of 16 unique modules.

It has a beautiful new soft grey font inside and lots more room to write with beautiful big, unlined spaces.

Almost all of the modules have been improved and expanded in some way.

There are a few new fun surprises inside, like a Writing Accountability Tracker, to really help you embrace your everyday life as a dedicated writer.
